Iranian students risk everything while US leaders do nothing the hypocrisy no one wants to admit

The truth is staring us all in the face. The Iranian regime, a brutal relic from another age, thinks it can silence the will of its people with tanks, tear gas, and terror in the streets. For seven weeks now, they’ve tried to stamp out protestors—people who only want basic freedoms—with force and fear. But look what’s happening anyway: even now, college campuses across Iran are alive with resistance. Students refuse to get in line. They risk their lives because they know what’s right.

While these young Iranians show real courage, the so-called “global community” does what it always does—nothing. Liberal elites wring their hands, host fancy conferences, and write long-winded statements. Where is the action? The Biden administration keeps waffling, sending mixed signals, playing diplomatic games as if that ever worked with the mullahs in Tehran. Does anyone remember how Obama’s “Iran deal” filled the pockets of this regime and bought absolutely no peace?

Let’s get something straight: when you appease tyrants, you embolden them. This isn’t just some distant problem. It threatens American security too. Right now, tensions are rising and the U.S. military might get drawn in. But where was the leadership months ago, when real pressure could have pushed the regime to the brink? Instead, liberal internationalists keep talking about “dialogue” and “restraint,” while Iranian citizens get clubbed on their way to class.

The hypocrisy is staggering. So many left-wing activists love to shout about free speech—until it happens somewhere that doesn’t fit their narrative. You don’t see big marches for Iranian students on our college campuses. Why? Because it doesn’t score political points for their pet causes. They’re too busy blaming America for everything wrong in the world. But let’s call this out for what it is: cowardice.

The world is watching. These Iranian students are braver than the pampered “resistors” filling Ivy League lecture halls. They face real bullets, not mean tweets. That kind of courage should inspire us. Why is the White House stuck on mute? Maybe if our leaders had half the backbone of these students, the world would be a safer, freer place. So here’s the question: will America stand for freedom, or will we keep making excuses for tyrants who crush it?
