The IRS never fails to disappoint. This time, it’s their lazy approach to certifying tax preparers that’s burning a deep hole in America’s pocketbook. Billions—and, yes, billions—of dollars are lost every year just because the agency doesn’t bother to set real rules for the people getting paid to do your taxes. But these are the same bureaucrats who lecture us about “fairness” and “justice.” Where’s the fairness when ordinary Americans are left holding the bag for government incompetence?
Here’s what’s really going on: the IRS lets anyone with a pen and a calculator call themselves a tax preparer. No training. No certification. Nothing but an open door for taxpayer mistakes—and sometimes flat-out cheating. And who pays the price? Hardworking families, the honest small business owner, and the countless Americans who play by the rules while the system gets gamed for billions in improper credits.
The Left loves big government. They love spending your money, pushing for endless tax hikes, and promising cradle-to-grave “security.” Yet they can’t even secure the basic system that’s supposed to protect tax dollars for honest citizens. Instead, liberal incompetence runs rampant in the federal workforce, with not a hint of accountability. They’re quick to sic the IRS on conservative groups, but when it comes to protecting everyday folks from fraud, suddenly no one’s home.
Every dollar lost to these shady refund claims is another dollar our country doesn’t have for real priorities—border security, veterans, roads, public safety. Instead, thanks to bureaucratic laziness, we watch billions disappear while the political class shrugs and asks for more. The globalist left wants more control, more oversight, more taxes—yet can’t be bothered to make sure people handling YOUR returns know what they’re doing.
This is the same IRS the liberals want to grow even bigger. Who believes they’ll use all that new power to go after billionaires and cheaters? More likely, the average American will get squeezed even harder—while the true waste and fraud slip right through gaping cracks, year after year.
Maybe it’s time to stop trusting the so-called experts in Washington to watch the henhouse. When they fumble something as basic as tax preparer training, how can we trust them with anything else?
