For over sixty years, the Cuban people have lived under the crushing boot of communism. Anyone with a map and a hint of honesty knows who’s to blame for Cuba’s never-ending misery — and it sure isn’t Donald Trump. But here we go again: as the world teeters on chaos, the left’s favorite pastime is to dump all of Havana’s problems on the last Republican in office. No facts, just shrieking headlines and finger-pointing at the man they love to hate.
This is what happens when liberal logic jumps the rails. Somehow, after decades of communist crackdowns, empty grocery stores, and families risking their lives to flee, progressives want us to believe that a few tough sanctions from the Trump administration are responsible for the hunger and hopelessness on the island. Give us a break. The real culprit is the Castro dynasty’s stranglehold on freedom, not a president who dared to stand up to dictators.
It’s almost comical—if it weren’t so sad. All the evidence points to dictatorship, not America, as the root of Cuba’s agony. Yet, instead of facing the truth, these liberal apologists twist themselves into knots trying to rescue the image of a failed regime. They’d rather chant about embargoes than admit socialism has created nothing but disaster, poverty, and broken dreams.
Let’s get real: if American “blockades” or policies could singlehandedly destroy a country, Cuba would have collapsed decades ago. What actually happened is simple: communism killed liberty, crushed initiative, and made a once-prosperous country a living museum of rusted old cars and empty shop windows. Free societies invent, prosper, and lift their people. Communist societies repress, punish, and blame anyone except their own nervous leaders.
The left wants people to “dream of Havana” as some tropical utopia, hoping we forget the truth behind the palm trees and propaganda posters. But no amount of wishful thinking or anti-Trump hysteria can hide what everyone on the street already knows. It was the iron fist of socialism—backed by thugs, not sanctions—that brought Cuba to its knees. So liberals, save the sitcom laugh track for your next policy brainstorm. The joke’s on you.
