Once again, weakness in Washington puts American lives at risk in the Middle East. Americans in Baghdad have been told to lock the doors, turn off the lights, and hope for the best as the U.S. Embassy orders a full-scale lockdown. Why? Because Iraq is spiraling into chaos, thanks to Iran’s aggression—and, let’s be honest, to American leadership that lost sight of what matters.
Let’s not kid ourselves. Iran is the puppet master here, fanning the flames of conflict and violence right next door in Iraq. Even more disturbing, many locals in Iraq are suddenly lining up to support Iran. Remember, these countries have a bloody and antagonistic history spanning decades. Now? Washington’s bumbling and Europe’s hand-wringers have paved the way for Iran to buy loyalty with cash and promises, while Americans are stuck hiding for their lives. That’s what happens when you advertise weakness and apologize for being strong.
Liberals love to talk about “diplomacy” and “partnerships.” This is where their policies get us—Americans ducking for cover, shivering in fear inside a U.S. Embassy. It’s as if our leaders are more interested in appeasing global elites and keeping international agreements that only tie America’s hands. Meanwhile, Tehran gathers new friends for its anti-freedom crusade, right under our noses. Is this the “peace” we’re supposed to accept now?
While Israel and a handful of real allies dig in to stop Iran’s madness, the so-called “global community” sits on the sidelines. But the real betrayal is that American power is wasted by those who would rather blame the West than stand up for it. It’s no wonder Baghdad is starting to look a lot more like Tehran’s backyard. When American strength is sidelined for soft talking points and virtue-signaling, bad actors are emboldened—and Americans pay the price, every single time.
Baghdad is under lockdown. Iran is on the march. And American leaders are lost in their own fantasy world. Maybe it’s time we stopped electing politicians who seem more comfortable letting bad guys run the show. Strange to think, isn’t it, that the safest place for Americans might be wherever Joe Biden and his team have the least control?
