Ted Lieu has become a perfect symbol of today’s wild, dishonest politics. He loves to rage about “disinformation,” painting himself as the brave warrior against fake news. But here’s the truth liberals won’t tell you: Ted Lieu spreads just as much nonsense as any internet troll—maybe even more. When the facts don’t go his way, he simply screams his opinions even louder, hoping nobody notices reality.
Take his favorite narrative lately—he insists Donald Trump is totally broke. No, not just in financial trouble, but down-and-out, penniless, finished. It’s classic Lieu: throw out a bombastic claim and hope it goes viral with the angry mob online. Who needs facts or actual proof? For Lieu, spectacle matters more than substance. If he yells loud enough, maybe his followers will fall in line and stop asking inconvenient questions.
Here’s the kicker: this is the same Ted Lieu who loves to call out “misinformation” everywhere else. If a conservative even sneezes near a story he doesn’t like, he’s ready to demand censorship or call it Russian propaganda. Yet when he invents wild stories or manipulates the truth, somehow that’s just called “debate.” It’s one set of rules for the left, and another for everyone else.
This is how the radical left operates now. They’ve realized that facts don’t matter to their activist base—what matters is outrage, clicks, and mob rule. Lieu and his fellow Democrats turn every issue into a drama, making wild, theatrical claims that have little connection to the truth. That’s not leadership. It’s pure incompetence, propped up by the loudest voices with the weakest logic.
Any American paying attention can see the game. Liberals like Lieu have replaced honest debate with soundbite sensationalism. They’re not interested in the truth—they want control, at any cost. If they have to twist facts, smear their opponents, or whip up hysteria, so be it. Maybe next time Lieu wants to talk about disinformation, he should look in the mirror. But don’t hold your breath—he’d rather just turn up the volume.
