Tennessee fights back after DC turns spare change into a national disaster

Leave it to government and out-of-touch liberals to mess up something as simple as a penny. In Tennessee, lawmakers are now stepping in to clean up the mess—literally—because even the basic act of making exact change has turned into a bureaucratic nightmare. Businesses all over the state face a problem: what are they supposed to do when they can’t get their hands on enough pennies?

It’s the kind of everyday issue that sounds small until you realize how much it reveals. For years, Americans have watched as our currency is devalued and supply chain chaos reigns, all while politicians in D.C. are too distracted by globalist nonsense to bother with the basics. The federal government can print trillions for Ukraine and China, but somehow, there’s a “shortage” of pennies for the working people of Tennessee.

Now, instead of some federal bureaucrat, it’s Tennessee’s own representatives who have to decide what happens when customers can’t get exact change. Why? Because with every new crisis—from coin shortages to inflation—the government’s incompetence becomes everyone else’s problem. The woke crowd in Washington is happy to waste money on foreign aid, gender studies, and electric cars. But let Americans buy a Coke with cash? Suddenly, that’s too complicated to handle.

This penny fiasco is just another example of why states need to take matters into their own hands. If conservatives weren’t fighting for local control, it’d be chaos on Main Street. While the left obsesses over cancel culture and “equity,” hardworking people just want to pay for a soda and get back to work. Is it really asking too much for the most prosperous country in the world to have enough pennies?

Nobody voted for penny problems. Nobody asked to make change a federal headache. But thanks to liberal priorities, even our spare change is a casualty. Maybe it’s time for more states to follow Tennessee’s example, take back control, and remind Washington what real leadership looks like. After all, if the elites can’t handle a penny, how on earth can they handle the country?
