It never fails. The left will scream about “war powers” and “checks and balances”—but only when it’s convenient for them. Democrats say one thing and do the opposite. Hakeem Jeffries is the latest liberal leader to trip over his own hypocrisy. When pressed about his party’s record on military action, he tried to dance around reality. It was embarrassing.
Let’s rewind to 2011. Barack Obama, the golden boy of the left, decided to bomb Libya. He didn’t ask Congress. He barely even mentioned it—just flexed the might of the U.S. military on a whim. The Democrats? They cheered. Nancy Pelosi even claimed Obama didn’t need permission from Congress at all. Apparently, the Constitution only matters to them if a Republican is President.
Now, all these years later, Democrats are suddenly “concerned” about war powers. They cry wolf whenever a conservative so much as mentions military action. When Biden and his cronies want to tangle in foreign conflicts or push their own agendas overseas? Not a peep. It’s the usual game: one set of rules for themselves, another for the rest of us.
The left loves to pretend they care about troops and the rule of law. But their record tells a different story. Obama’s Libyan disaster led to chaos, open slave markets, and emboldened terrorists. Did the globalist Democrats clean up their own mess? Of course not. They blame conservatives for problems they’ve created and act like they own the moral high ground.
Americans aren’t buying the act. People see the pattern of liberal self-serving moves and endless double standards. If Democrats really cared about U.S. soldiers or American interests, they’d stop using war powers as a political football. Maybe Hakeem Jeffries should spend less time defending his party’s blunders and more time reading the Constitution. Or does he only think it applies when there’s a Republican in the White House?
