Maine’s Democrats are showing their true colors, and America should pay attention. Their “great hope” to take down Senator Susan Collins isn’t just some rough-around-the-edges oyster farmer, as they’d like to pretend. No, Graham Platner, the so-called champion of rural America, turned out to be carrying around Nazi tattoos. That’s right—while Democrats never miss a chance to fling accusations of hate at the right, their own guy is the one hiding hate symbols on his body. Forget about all their lecturing on “values.” When it comes down to it, their chosen candidate needed a trip to the tattoo removal shop before he could even face the public.
But the circus doesn’t end there. Platner is so desperate to prove he’s not part of the radical, elitist left that he went and trained with Antifa-style gun groups. Yes, you read that right: the Democrats’ big candidate spent his weekends playing army with gun-toting leftists. Liberals want us to believe conservative gun owners are the problem in America, but apparently, their own folks are fine as long as they’re shooting alongside anarchists. That’s Democrat logic for you.
And let’s be real about his campaign. All Platner’s tough talk about running an outsider, “no consultants” operation is as fake as a three-dollar bill. Behind the scenes, he’s just parroting pre-packaged talking points crafted by out-of-touch D.C. operatives. Now he wants the world to believe the tattoos never existed, or that he never trashed police and rural Americans. Maine voters aren’t stupid, and they know when they’re being lied to.
This is the left’s all-star? A man who has attacked law enforcement, mocked rural folks, thrown insults at religious Americans, and tried to wipe away his Nazi past with a few conveniently timed visits to a tattoo removal shop? Democrats love to paint themselves as the party of tolerance, but when push comes to shove, this is the best they can do—an angry activist with a dark, hateful history and a resume that reads like a parody.
Maine deserves better, and so does the nation. No amount of damage control or slick D.C. messaging can paper over Platner’s past—or the embarrassing fact that Democrats thought this was a good idea. Maybe next time the left points fingers, they should take a hard look in the mirror. Or are we supposed to just ignore the obvious and pretend this isn’t a train wreck? Maine voters sure won’t.
