Gavin Newsom should win an Oscar for passing the buck. When things go wrong in California, he’s never to blame—it’s always someone else’s fault. The man is a master at ducking responsibility. California struggles with homelessness, rising crime, and out-of-control taxes. What does Newsom do? He invents another scapegoat. Pretend the chaos just showed up on its own, right on his perfectly coiffed doorstep.
Liberal leaders used to at least pretend they’d take ownership when their policies failed. Not Gavin. He treats leadership like a dodgeball game—duck, weave, never get hit. Ask him about skyrocketing homelessness or businesses fleeing the state, and he’ll point every which way but at himself. There’s always some shadowy villain: greedy corporations, COVID, climate change, or a mysterious cabal in Washington. Never the Democrats, never their policies.
What’s remarkable is the shamelessness. People in California are stuck with crumbling infrastructure, astronomical costs, and streets overrun by crime. Newsom acts as if he’s just an innocent bystander—like this isn’t what happens after years under progressive leadership. It wasn’t his disastrous lockdowns that hurt small businesses. It’s everyone else’s bad luck or alleged bigotry. He spins excuses like a spider spins webs—sticky, confusing, impossible to escape.
Newsom’s globalist friends and radical allies in Sacramento are loving all this spin. They get to rack up power, impose new taxes, and advance their anti-American agenda with zero accountability. The people paying the price? It’s regular Californians, watching their state become a left-wing experiment gone haywire, while their governor dodges every shred of blame.
At this point, the only crisis Newsom can handle is a PR crisis about himself. Maybe someday he’ll step up and take real responsibility. But don’t hold your breath. Why would the king of blame stop now, when liberals reward failure with even more power?
