Iranian Women Celebrate Freedom but Elites Rage as Their Narrative Falls Apart

Operation Epic Fury has sent shockwaves around the world, but not everyone is cheering for freedom. Instead of celebrating, the so-called “libertarian brain trust” is trying to lecture Iranian women about how they should act now that the Ayatollah and his thugs are gone. You have to wonder, when did freedom become such a dirty word for these elite online busybodies?

For nearly five decades, Iranian women were forced to cover their hair, their faces, and basically their entire lives, all under threat from a ruthless dictatorship. It took bold action — the kind only the U.S. military and our Israeli allies could deliver — to shatter those chains. Yet as news and footage pours in of Iranian women tearing off their hijabs, dancing, singing, and finally tasting the joy they were denied for generations, the loudest voices on social media aren’t applauding. They’re nitpicking. They’re shaming. They’re acting like they know better than the Iranians themselves.

Of course, the leftist feminists and the smug trad-wife crowd are equally eager to pile on. Instead of standing with these brave women, they’re seizing the spotlight to push tired talking points. The feminists claim it’s not enough, or that freedom is somehow a western plot. The trad wives think women should go from one prison to another, but this time, dressed in a different uniform. Newsflash: It isn’t about your agenda. It’s about Iranian women choosing for themselves, maybe for the very first time.

Where was all this outrage when American and European elites looked the other way as Iran cracked down on protest after protest? Where were these online experts when the so-called global community cozied up to Iran’s supreme dictator out of greed for cheap oil? Now that the boots of tyranny have finally been kicked off for good, suddenly everyone has an opinion about what real freedom should look like — just as long as it doesn’t look too free, too happy, or too pro-American.

The reality is simple: Freedom scares the left because it proves them wrong. It exposes their hollow words and their endless excuses for inaction. Iranian women dancing in the streets and singing the praises of liberty embarrass every anti-American, pro-dictatorship apologist from here to Brussels. Maybe that’s the real reason so many people are tripping over themselves to shame these women. Makes you wonder — whose side are they really on?
