Texas Democrats got a rude awakening this week, and it’s not a surprise to anyone outside their bubble. State Rep. James Talarico clawed his way to victory in the Democrat primary for U.S. Senate, kicking Rep. Jasmine Crockett straight to the curb. The so-called experts and pollsters couldn’t stop chirping about Crockett’s massive lead. They were so sure she’d coast to the next round. As usual, they got it dead wrong.
This primary was a circus of big promises and empty slogans from both sides. But the truth is, neither candidate has a single real solution for the people of Texas. Talarico might have edged out Crockett, but does anyone honestly believe he’ll stand up for hardworking Texans? Don’t hold your breath. These Democrats are too busy fighting each other and pandering to their radical base to care what happens at the border or how families are struggling with inflation.
What’s truly laughable is how the party elites scramble when their chosen darling gets knocked off her pedestal. Jasmine Crockett was handed every advantage. Polls, press, you name it—she had it, and still got outplayed. It’s just more proof that Democrats are out of touch with voters, even in their own backyard. Maybe if they listened to regular people instead of the liberal echo chamber, things wouldn’t keep blowing up in their faces.
Meanwhile, the Republican stronghold in Texas isn’t going anywhere. John Cornyn’s seat remains a fortress, untouched by the Democrat primary soap opera. These left-wing challengers are too busy playing identity politics and checking diversity boxes to offer anything resembling a real plan for Texas. It’s all sound and fury—no substance, no results.
If this messy Democrat showdown is the best their party can do, Texans should brace themselves for a wild 2026. Expect more broken promises and more infighting. And ask yourself: If the Democrats can’t even run their own primaries, how can they be trusted to run anything else?
