Once again, Democrats in Congress reveal just how out of touch they are with the heartbreak of everyday Americans. This week, Steve Cohen, a Democrat from Tennessee, had the nerve to tell Angel Families—they’ve lost loved ones to crimes committed by illegal aliens—that they should just accept their loss. Why? Because, according to him, Americans are more likely to be killed by other Americans than by people who cross our borders illegally. That’s the message today’s Democrat Party sends to grieving families: Sit down and swallow it, your lives don’t fit the narrative.
This mindset is beyond insulting. These lawmakers seem to think statistics and talking points can replace basic human compassion. When American citizens lose their children, spouses, or parents at the hands of someone who shouldn’t even be here, the left shrugs it off as collateral damage. Their response? Point the finger back at Americans, as if that somehow excuses our open borders and failed immigration policies.
It’s not just disrespectful; it’s dangerous. The liberal obsession with putting illegal aliens above American families only emboldens lawbreakers and weakens our nation’s sovereignty. Instead of standing up for the people they swore to protect, Democrats run cover for globalist interests and lobbyists who want cheap labor and open doors. Ordinary Americans pay the price in blood.
What these tone-deaf leftists don’t seem to understand is that one preventable death is one too many. Every time the government turns a blind eye to illegal immigration, it invites criminals into our communities. Democrats can twist the numbers all they want, but the reality is simple: The people being buried, the children left orphaned, the mothers mourning—they all deserved better. And the politicians responsible for these tragedies hide behind selective stats and feigned sympathy.
At what point will the American people stand up and say enough? How many families have to be shattered before the left finally puts America first? Or is the pain of Angel Families just another statistic to be dismissed in the march toward open borders and globalist dreams?
