California loves bragging about its compassion, but the state government is burning its own people—literally and figuratively. When wildfires tear through entire communities, the politicians line up with their sad faces and big promises. They swear up and down they’ll cut red tape and let folks rebuild their homes without hassle. But when all the TV cameras leave, the reality is the same old story: crushing bureaucracy, sky-high fees, and endless hoops for regular people to jump through.
Liberals running the show in Sacramento have made it nearly impossible for wildfire survivors to get back on their feet. It’s bad enough to lose your home in a blaze. In California, the insult is the endless government paperwork, environmental rules, and so-called “safety” mandates that slow rebuilding to a crawl. Instead of helping folks put their lives back together, these government agencies seem more interested in pushing their agenda—and filling their own pockets.
Why is it so hard to rebuild? Because left-wing politicians never saw a regulation they didn’t love. Every disaster gets turned into an excuse to lock down more power and control. Meanwhile, who really pays? Everyday working people—ranchers, families, retirees—who just want a roof over their heads again. California’s rules are so suffocating, it’s a miracle anything gets built at all.
All the talk about “climate action” and “environmental responsibility” just means more filters and higher costs. They say it’s for the good of the planet. But the real winners are the endless layers of bureaucrats, consultants, and big-government activists. Globalist interests love watching American families get held hostage by red tape. It’s all so the so-called experts can pat themselves on the back, while disaster victims get stranded in limbo.
If California’s leaders really cared about their people, they’d let fire victims rebuild fast and free—no massive fees, no climate crusades getting in the way. Instead, they’ve turned tragedy into just another excuse for more rules and less freedom. Why do liberals hate letting Americans rebuild their own lives? Maybe because power—not people—is their real priority.
