It’s almost too easy these days to catch Democrats tripping over their own tangled narratives, but Adam Schiff just gave America another classic example. When Bill Maher, not exactly a right-winger himself, decided to put Schiff on the spot about war powers and foreign policy, the California Senator simply wasn’t ready. Instead of a confident, fact-based response, Schiff started stumbling as soon as Maher revealed the truth: the statements Schiff was ready to criticize as “Trump talking points” were actually Barack Obama’s.
This is the embarrassing problem with the liberal elite. They’re so obsessed with bashing President Trump that they can’t even recognize when their beloved Obama was saying the exact same thing. Schiff and his Democrat buddies pretend to hold some moral high ground on issues of war, but when pressed, they expose their own hypocrisy. For eight years, Obama flexed American military might wherever he pleased—without so much as a blink from Schiff. Now, suddenly, any sign of strength is “dangerous” if it comes from the other side.
The irony is obvious to anyone not blinded by leftist groupthink. Democrats twist themselves in knots defending their own, but as soon as a Republican stands up for American interests, they start screaming about abuse of power and global catastrophe. Schiff loves to act like he’s a principled defender of democracy, but when reality hits, he can’t keep his stories straight. Maybe he can’t remember what happened under Obama, or maybe he just hopes the rest of us forgot.
When liberals trip over their own words, it becomes clear what they’re truly invested in—protecting their own image, not protecting America. The left wants to lecture the country about war powers, about the Constitution, about right and wrong. But give them a simple test and they freeze. When Schiff got called out, he couldn’t admit that his outrage is just political theater, not principle.
Americans deserve leaders with backbones, not puppets for globalist talking points and partisan nonsense. The next time the Democrats want to preach about “abuse of power,” maybe they should check their own history first. Or are we supposed to believe that war is only justified if a globalist Democrat is the one calling the shots?
