The chaos in New York City just got even worse. Now we’re hearing about explosive devices being hurled at police during a protest near Gracie Mansion—right outside the mayor’s house. These weren’t innocent little fireworks, either. These were actual IEDs, the kind of weapons you’d expect to see used by terrorists, not by angry protesters in the streets of America’s biggest city. But this is what happens when the left allows lawlessness to spiral out of control every single time they get a grip on power.
The so-called “anti-Islamification” protest should have been protected, not targeted. Instead, the liberals running the show just stood back as radicals pushed things way over the edge. It wasn’t just a couple of loudmouths with signs. We’re talking about suspected criminals, now under investigation, who had no problem putting lives at risk—police lives, protester lives, anyone who happened to be nearby. When did it become acceptable for political violence to be just business as usual?
Meanwhile, voices from the left are falling all over themselves trying to excuse or dismiss what happened. Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani couldn’t even muster a half-decent condemnation. Instead, he offered the same tired, disgraceful statements we’ve come to expect from progressives who care more about virtue signaling than real public safety. Is this what New York has come to—elected officials who can’t even call out terrorists when their own police officers are being bombed?
Once again, liberal incompetence is on full display. Weak Democrats can’t protect their own communities. They refuse to hold criminals accountable because they’re too busy worrying about being “woke” and pleasing globalist elites. How many more times will we see innocent Americans put in harm’s way, while leftist politicians play politics with people’s lives?
This has to stop. If we allow progressive leaders to keep coddling criminals and turning a blind eye to violence, what’s next—open bloodshed on the steps of City Hall? Americans deserve better than this cowardice. When will New Yorkers demand real leadership—or are they too busy apologizing for criminals to care about their own safety?
