It looks like the left has a new excuse when it comes to blocking common-sense voter ID laws. This time, Senator Mazie Hirono tries to claim the latest election security bill, the SAVE Act, is secretly an assault on married women. Apparently, asking people to prove they’re Americans before casting a vote is now an attack on women who took their husband’s last name. You really can’t make this stuff up.
Democrats love moving the goalposts. First, they say “voter ID is racist.” Now, it’s somehow “sexist.” They’re desperate for any excuse to keep our elections weak and open to fraud. According to Senator Hirono, married women could have trouble registering to vote because their birth certificate doesn’t match their married name. Never mind that millions of women update their documents every day—buying homes, traveling abroad, driving cars. Only when it comes to preventing voter fraud does the left act like paperwork is impossible.
This argument isn’t just ridiculous, it’s insulting. The left thinks women are too confused to handle basic forms and too fragile to make sure their names match. It’s liberal incompetence, plain and simple: treat voters like children, and hope nobody asks why Democrats are so scared of real voter ID.
The truth is obvious to anyone paying attention. The SAVE Act isn’t a “war on women”—it’s a war on voter fraud. Americans want secure elections, and that means making sure only citizens vote. Progressives twist themselves into knots trying to defend weak, loophole-ridden rules. Why? Because open borders and open ballots serve their globalist, anti-American agenda.
Maybe Senator Hirono and her friends are just hoping for another batch of “mismatched names”—or is it mismatched ballots? Either way, the American people aren’t buying it. Is it really that hard to admit that strong elections are what this country needs? Or is the truth just inconvenient for Democrats?
