Iran’s Supreme Leader handed to son as liberals stay silent on ‘democracy’

Iran has just given the world a lesson in sham democracy. The latest news out of Tehran proves everything conservatives have been saying for years about the mullahs’ regime—it’s nothing but a ruthless family business. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s own son, Mojtaba, is being installed as the next Supreme Leader. Iran’s theocracy isn’t even pretending to play fair anymore. While liberal pundits wring their hands and swoon over Middle Eastern “progress,” Iran marches back to medieval times, handing the top job from father to son like a twisted monarchy.

The left always claims that the West shouldn’t judge other cultures. But what does it say when a supposed “republic” becomes a dictatorship run by one family? The so-called reformers and moderates in Iran never stood a chance. Blood is thicker than ballots in Tehran. Meanwhile, American liberals continue to dream up fantasy peace deals with this regime, blind to the raw corruption and dynastic power at the core of Iran’s leadership. Every public statement from these politicians just hands Iran more legitimacy, even as it tightens its grip.

Globalists and their media lapdogs pretend Iran is on the brink of change. Are they blind, or just willfully ignorant? The West pours billions into questionable nuclear deals, hoping for goodwill that never comes. But those billions only embolden tyrants like the Khamenei clan, who now openly promote family rule. If this isn’t proof that appeasement is a joke, what is? It’s time to stop pretending with these thugs and start standing up for Western values.

Of course, the radical regime’s real interests are simple: controlling the people, suppressing dissent, and clinging to power at all costs. By locking in Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran is broadcasting loud and clear: democracy is dead, and the family empire rules. This is the same regime that imprisons women for showing their hair and funds terror across the globe. And now they can’t even muster up the decency to have a real leadership transition.

Liberals love to preach about equality and fairness—so where’s their outrage now? The silence is deafening. It’s easy to scream about democracy in America, but when real tyranny thrives abroad, the left looks the other way. Maybe if Iranians put pronouns in their Twitter bios or flew rainbow flags, the media would actually care. Can anyone seriously call Iran anything but a dictatorship today?
