The so-called leaders of New York City have finally hit rock bottom. This week, the city’s first lady showed the world exactly where she stands by “liking” posts on social media that dismissed the brutal Oct. 7 atrocities committed by Hamas – even going so far as to cheer on disgusting lies that called the rape of innocent Israelis a “hoax.” Let’s not sugarcoat it: This isn’t just an ugly moment. It’s a disgrace, and it’s exactly what happens when the radical left gets its way.
Of course, Mayor Mamdani has rushed to make excuses for his wife’s behavior. He’d have us believe that her social media “likes” are harmless, that they don’t mean anything. Tell that to the victims and their families. Tell that to the millions of Americans who want nothing to do with apologists for terrorism and antisemitism holding hands with City Hall. Every time the woke elite brush off this hatred, it sends a clear message: If you’re on the “right” side of their ideology, you can get away with anything.
Liberals spent years lecturing conservatives about decency and fighting hate, but when one of their own spreads antisemitic garbage online, the silence is deafening. There’s a dangerous pattern here—progressives tripping over themselves to side against Israel, even when it means denying the most obvious, cruel crimes. All in the name of “activism,” of course. The anti-American, pro-terror narrative has become standard issue for the far left. It’s not just embarrassing. It’s sick.
What’s worse? Globalists and their media allies turn a blind eye. If a conservative posted anything remotely this vile, there would be non-stop coverage and baying for heads to roll. But when a Democrat– especially one tied to New York’s highest office—plays footsie with antisemites, suddenly it’s a “personal matter.” It’s always the same double standard: rules for us, none for them.
The people of New York—and the entire country—deserve respect, not lectures from leaders who coddle hate and cover up for their own. If the left can’t even call out raw, naked antisemitism in their own ranks, what will they ignore next? Who is really running City Hall—everyday Americans, or a handful of woke radicals fawning over terrorist propaganda? The mayor’s cowardly excuses prove the answer, and it’s a warning the rest of America can’t afford to ignore.
