Chicago teachers join radicals as students fail to read or do math parents outraged by union priorities

The Chicago Teachers’ Union has once again shown their twisted priorities, and it’s Chicago’s kids who pay the price. While only about 30% of students in Chicago Public Schools can read at their grade level—and just 20% can even do basic math—the teachers’ union is more concerned about staging political theater for foreign tyrants than serving children right here at home.

Let’s be clear: this isn’t just a handful of rogue activists. The CTU officially sponsored and promoted a rally in downtown Chicago, teaming up with a laundry list of Marxist, Antifa, and Islamist groups. These aren’t harmless peace activists—they openly support regimes that hate America, celebrate terrorists, and spread antisemitism. But the Chicago Teachers’ Union is right there with them, arm in arm, instead of in the classroom making sure kids can read a book or solve a math problem.

While parents in Chicago are begging for better schools, the CTU is rubbing elbows with groups that want to tear America apart. They have time to make sure their protest signs are spelled correctly, but not to fix the fact that some schools in this city have zero students proficient in math. That’s right—schools where not a single student can do math at grade level. And while they waste millions on luxury travel for their union bigwigs, the school district faces a massive $734 million deficit.

The radicalism goes deeper. The CTU has openly praised violent criminals and cop killers, painting them as heroes of revolution. When confronted about the appalling test scores, the union’s president excuses it all by blaming “white supremacy.” Never mind that some schools are nearly empty, teachers outnumber students, and taxpayers are shelling out over $33,000 per student for abysmal results.

Chicago families deserve better. Their children deserve an education, not politically charged “woke” activism and a union more interested in globalist causes than fixing broken schools. If the union spent half as much energy teaching kids as they do staging rallies for America’s enemies, maybe those children could actually read the slogans on the protest signs.

This isn’t education. This is left-wing indoctrination masquerading as public service. How much more failure are Chicago families supposed to tolerate before someone says: enough?
