City Hall narrowly avoids disaster after radicals try to seize control of child protection agency

It looks like common sense isn’t completely dead in City Hall—at least not this week. The city just dodged a disaster by refusing to let a so-called “abolitionist” take the reins at the Administration for Children’s Services. What does that word really mean? It means hard-left activists who want to tear down the systems that protect our most vulnerable—America’s kids. That’s right: these radical ideologues would rather “abolish” child protection agencies than do the hard work of keeping kids safe from abuse and neglect.

Just think about the lunacy. Liberal bureaucrats seriously considered putting an anti-police, anti-accountability activist in charge of children’s welfare. In their upside-down world, people who want to get rid of cops and social workers are somehow qualified to look after at-risk children. Is it any surprise the left keeps proving they can’t be trusted with real responsibility? They talk about justice and equity, but in reality, their radical ideas would put children directly in harm’s way.

If City Hall had gone along with this reckless scheme, there’s no question we’d be facing chaos. What happens when the people who want to abolish the rules start running the programs? Families would pay the price, while left-wing activists celebrate their “progress.” The very idea shows just how far out of touch the liberal elite really are—they’d rather bow down to woke Twitter mobs than focus on the actual wellbeing of American families.

We have seen it before: liberals try to put their ideology ahead of safety. They call it “abolition.” The rest of us call it insanity.
