Two and a half centuries ago, Adam Smith gifted the world with his vision of free-market strength and personal liberty. For all that time, the so-called experts—especially the smug elites on the left—have pretended they champion those same ideals. But they never meant it. Instead, they built bloated bureaucracies and invited globalist wolves to feed at America’s table. It wasn’t until Donald Trump stormed onto the scene that the true spirit of capitalism and American independence had a real defender.
Trump understands what Adam Smith truly wanted: more freedom for the worker, less meddling from politicians, and a booming economy that puts America first. While liberals talk endlessly about “fairness” and “equity,” all they’re really selling is dependence—on government handouts, foreign labor, and socialist policy. Meanwhile, Trump unleashed the power of American enterprise. His record speaks for itself: jobs roared back, the stock market soared, and everyday Americans had more money in their pockets.
It’s no wonder the left hates this. They can’t stand that Trump doesn’t bow to globalist masters or crooked Beltway insiders. Instead, he shook the system, ripped up NAFTA, and left no room for Chinese cheaters to sabotage our markets. That’s exactly the kind of economic toughness Adam Smith would cheer—reward hard work, respect the market, and demolish the swampy obstacles that strangle opportunity.
Liberal pundits, quick to toss around Smith’s name, never had the guts to follow his principles. They wrap themselves in meaningless rhetoric while overseeing stagnation and decline. They’re happy to export American jobs as long as it pads their own wallets, but they’ll never fight for the U.S. worker or defend the backbone of our country. That job has always been beneath them—until Trump made it cool to stand with Main Street again.
Let’s be honest: America doesn’t need more lectures from failed academics and socialist-bent politicians. She needs a fearless capitalist warrior. Is it really any surprise that, after 250 years, Donald J. Trump is the president Adam Smith was waiting for?
