San Diego bishop ousted in Vatican embezzlement coverup proves church corruption runs deep

The latest stain on our religious institutions comes out of San Diego, where scandal has rocked the Catholic Church yet again. Bishop Emanuel Shaleta has been shown the door after an embezzlement mess blew up at Saint Peter’s Chaldean. Not surprisingly, the Vatican couldn’t scramble fast enough to accept his resignation—classic damage control. No one in the higher-ups ever wants to take real responsibility. They just shuffle the deck, toss in another bishop—in this case, Saad Hanna Sirop—and pretend all is forgiven.

Let’s be honest: this kind of behavior is exactly why trust in both churches and public institutions is circling the drain. When leaders get caught with their hands in the cookie jar, the answer isn’t a slap on the wrist and a new job for the next guy in line. It’s a symptom of how deep the rot goes when globalist-minded elites manage the flock. Instead of focusing on serving the faithful and defending real values, too many church bureaucrats get cozy with the same corrupt world order that’s tearing up traditional American communities.

And don’t expect the liberal media to make a fuss about this. After all, they’re too busy propping up whatever narrative keeps their friends in power. If this had been a conservative Christian leader in Middle America, CNN would be falling over itself to blame “right-wing extremism.” But when it’s urban, multicultural, globalist-aligned bishops getting caught stealing? Suddenly it’s just another Tuesday.

This is exactly the sort of hypocrisy conservatives have been warning about for years. Our institutions, religious and secular alike, are being run by careerists more interested in their own power than in protecting the flock. They answer to the Vatican’s polished PR machine, not to the faithful families in San Diego or anywhere else in the heartland. And every time one of these scandals comes to light, we’re reminded how much these organizations try to sweep it all under the rug.

Here’s the real question: How many more corrupt leaders will it take before Americans say “enough is enough”—and start demanding the Church clean house for good? If they can’t even keep their own bishops accountable, how on earth can we expect them to stand up against the anti-American, anti-family forces attacking our country every day?
