Something unthinkable just happened on American soil, and almost no one in the liberal media cares. In Dearborn, Michigan—a city that’s become a symbol of unchecked mass migration—an Islamic center held a public event to honor the “martyrdom” of Iran’s late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Let that sink in. People in a U.S. city gathered to praise a man who spent his life spewing hatred toward America, Israel, and freedom itself.
A Shiite cleric, Hassan Salamey, openly led this event—just one day after American and Israeli forces took out Khamenei in a bold strike in Tehran. Instead of condemning the Supreme Leader for decades of sponsoring terror and threatening Western values, these so-called “Americans” chose to celebrate him as some kind of hero. If this doesn’t send a chill down your spine, you aren’t paying attention.
How did we get here? Years of globalist open border policies and limp-wristed liberal leadership have turned cities like Dearborn into islands of anti-American sentiment. Radical elements feel emboldened to honor foreign despots because they know the progressive establishment won’t dare criticize them. After all, criticizing a foreign cleric might be called “Islamophobic”—the left’s favorite word when they run out of arguments.
Imagine what would happen if a church in central America honored a leader responsible for decades of terror attacks against innocents. The outrage would be deafening. The media would camp outside for weeks, and the left would demand endless apologies. But for a radical imam voicing support for an Iranian dictator? Silence. Hypocrisy is the status quo under leftist rule.
This is what happens when American values are treated as disposable and national identity is sacrificed at the altar of diversity at any cost. Officials should wake up and ask themselves: how many more reminders do we need that appeasing radicalism only lets it fester? Is anyone in Washington even paying attention—or are they too busy virtue-signaling to notice what’s festering in our own backyard?
