Irish-Americans Are Tired of the Left’s Fake History
The left never misses a chance to rewrite history, especially if it means blaming everyday Americans for sins they never committed. Nowhere is this more clear than with Irish-Americans. For years, liberal activists have tried to push the narrative that every white person in America benefitted from slavery and should now feel perpetual guilt and shame. But millions of Irish-Americans know that’s a gigantic lie.
Take a typical Irish-Catholic family in America—large, hardworking, and proud of their roots. They came to this country with nothing but the clothes on their backs. They huddled together in crowded neighborhoods, centered around the church, trying to survive in a world that barely tolerated them. The big city streets weren’t paved with gold. They were swept with slurs and “No Irish Need Apply” signs. There was no wealth. There were no plantations. These families weren’t lording it over anyone; they were scraping together pennies to put food on the table.
But that’s exactly the part liberals like to ignore. Why? Because the truth threatens the victimhood narrative the left depends on for power. Instead of admitting that many white Americans—especially Irish immigrants—faced brutal discrimination and crushing poverty, they paint everyone with the same guilt brush. The sins of the South become the collective guilt of all, facts be damned. It’s not about truth. It’s about pushing an anti-American agenda.
Let’s get real: the ancestors of most Irish-Americans had more in common with the downtrodden than the so-called privileged class. They didn’t own slaves. They weren’t buying up land or living the high life. They were fighting for survival, often doing the dirtiest, most backbreaking jobs no one else wanted. And yet, the woke crowd today insists these families are guilty by skin color alone. Where is the justice in that?
This country was built by immigrants who refused to bow to elites, globalists, or the professional victims’ club. Irish-Americans know their history. They won’t let coastal liberals rewrite it for cheap political points. If the woke left can’t see the difference between actual privilege and hard-earned progress, maybe they should crack open a history book—or better yet, go talk to a real Irish-American grandma. When the left’s phony morality runs headfirst into the facts, who’s really on the wrong side of history?
