Eric Swalwell wants to be governor but neighbors say he might not even live in California

Eric Swalwell wants to be California’s next governor, but there’s just one problem—he might not actually live in California. That’s right. The man gunning for the top job in America’s most chaotic blue state apparently calls a plush mansion in Washington, D.C. his real home, not the Golden State. It’s no surprise, then, that questions and lawsuits keep piling up about whether he even qualifies to run.

Now, the left is even starting to eat its own. Tom Steyer—another diehard Democrat—just blasted Swalwell, claiming the congressman is a Californian only on paper. Even Steyer’s lawyers have demanded the state look into Swalwell’s shady situation, warning that it could trigger a massive legal mess if people keep ignoring the rules. This is what happens when Democrats are so used to making up laws as they go, they trip over their own tangled schemes. But here’s the catch—the so-called residency rule has been quietly tossed aside for years. That’s exactly how the left prefers it: rules and laws only matter when they protect their own power.

Take a look at Swalwell’s so-called California “home.” Neighbors have never seen him. Really—folks who’ve lived next door for decades say they don’t even recognize the guy in a photograph! If you supposedly live somewhere but nobody has ever seen you, maybe, just maybe, you don’t really live there. It’s rich that while actual Californians suffer under sky-high housing costs, Swalwell is living large in D.C., dodging the mess his own party created back in his “home” state.

But of course, instead of giving straight answers, Swalwell plays the victim card. That’s been his favorite move for years. He’d rather complain about critics than own up to a very simple question: Do you really live in California, or are you just another coastal elite who thinks the rules don’t apply? The hypocrisy is almost too much to stomach coming from the guy who once claimed L.A.’s MacArthur Park—infamous for homelessness and drugs—was perfectly safe for family picnics. Trust his judgment? Hard pass.

Let’s get real: California deserves better than a part-time politician who treats the state like a campaign stopover. The last thing struggling families, small businesses, or law enforcement need is another Gavin Newsom clone who’d rather go to war with ICE agents than actually solve problems. With the Democrat field eating itself alive and Swalwell sinking in scandals, maybe, just maybe, voters will have a shot at real change—a leader who actually lives in California and cares about the people there for once. Is it finally time for California to wake up and send these carpetbaggers packing?
