Once again, the cackling squad at The View just can’t help themselves. When faced with problems in the world, their answer is always to come up with a new conspiracy about President Trump. This time, Whoopi Goldberg went off the rails, throwing out a wild theory that Trump started a whole war with Iran just to make people forget about the missing mother of a Today Show co-host. Yes, you read that right. According to Whoopi’s imaginary playbook, Trump cares more about cable news drama than national security.
It’s laughable, but also infuriating. This is what passes for liberal analysis in 2026: claiming that when Trump takes decisive military action, it must be a calculated distraction for the latest melodrama among NBC’s elite. These left-wing talk show hacks seem to believe every global event is secretly about their media friends. They’re so obsessed with attacking Trump, they’ll compare U.S. foreign policy to a season of Real Housewives.
The left loves to complain about “misinformation,” yet their favorite celebrities peddle the craziest stories on daytime TV, treating baseless nonsense as fact. When oil prices go up or conflict heats up in the Middle East, liberals don’t blame the real threats facing America—they turn every issue into a soap opera starring themselves. The irony writes itself: these are the people lecturing the rest of the country about “truth” and “democracy,” while inventing conspiracies bigger than any QAnon thread.
Meanwhile, the real world doesn’t stop for Hollywood. Iran isn’t interested in Savannah Guthrie’s family drama, and neither is anyone outside of the Manhattan media bubble. But Whoopi and her crew would rather distract Americans with wild rumors than face the failures of the Biden administration or their globalist friends. The left will shout about “distraction tactics” all day long, but their favorite tactic is to distract from their own incompetence and lies.
At this point, does anyone outside the far-left echo chamber take these TV liberals seriously? Maybe Whoopi’s next theory will be that Trump controls the weather—or that he started World War III to cover up Joy Behar’s missing lunch. If this is the best the left has, it’s no wonder America is tuning them out.
