Cuban Communism on the Brink as Desperate Elites Beg for Mercy

The end of the Cuban dictatorship is finally coming, and anyone with eyes to see can tell it. The latest from responsible leaders in Congress makes one thing utterly clear: the communist regime running Havana is running scared. After decades of failure, poverty, and oppression, even the elites in Cuba can no longer pretend they have a future. Their entire game plan now is to cling to whatever scraps of power and wealth they can — and they’re begging for some kind of lifeline before their house of cards collapses.

For years, liberal apologists and globalist bureaucrats have turned a blind eye to the suffering of the Cuban people. While American leftists romanticized Che shirts and smoked cigars, average families on the island were crushed under the boot of socialism. Social justice warriors parade around pretending to fight for “the people,” but when real freedom is at stake in places like Cuba, they fall shamefully silent. They’d rather keep blaming America than face the truth: socialism destroys everything it touches.

Now, as the cracks widen in the communist stronghold just miles from our shores, establishment Democrats still can’t bring themselves to cheer for Cuba’s freedom. The regime in Havana is scrambling to cut deals with the West, desperately seeking “favorable terms” from the very countries that propped them up. It’s astonishing — the same crooked leaders who lectured the world about their glorious revolution are now begging their enemies for mercy.

Let’s get real. Communism in the Western Hemisphere never worked, never will work, and should have been thrown onto the ash heap of history decades ago. The only thing keeping Cuba’s regime in power was a mix of liberal naiveté, Obama-style appeasement, and help from our so-called international “partners.” Notice, it’s when America stands strong and refuses to play along with dictators that the dominoes start to fall.

The world is watching as the last chapter of Castro’s failed experiment finally closes. Will the American left admit they were wrong, or will they keep clinging to tired slogans while real people fight for real freedom? One thing’s for sure: the days of defending socialist misery have to end — and when Cuba is finally free, no one should let the liberals rewrite history.
