Here we go again. Barack Obama, the guy who promised “hope and change,” is now looking for “high-skilled” volunteers at his fancy new Obama Presidential Center in Chicago. But here’s the kicker—these volunteer jobs don’t pay a penny. zero. Meanwhile, Obama’s foundation rakes in millions and the bigwigs at the top collect massive executive salaries. Does this surprise anyone?
You’d think a former president, famous for lining the pockets of political insiders, could at least cough up enough cash to pay people for their work. Instead, we get another batch of unpaid gigs dressed up as “ambassador” roles. This isn’t about serving the community; it’s about making the rich and powerful look generous while everyday Americans foot the bill. Liberals love to talk about “equity” and “fairness,” but when it comes time to put their money where their mouth is, suddenly the checkbook slams shut.
Chicago is already battling crime, poverty, and a failing public school system, but Obama’s team wants hardworking folks to work for free—just so tourists can get a curated trip through Obama’s ego palace. It’s a slap in the face to the American worker. While foundation execs live large, they expect patriotic citizens to do the real work—for nothing. This is peak Democrat hypocrisy: preach social justice, hoard the rewards.
Let’s be honest—if a conservative group pulled this kind of stunt, the media would be howling. But because it’s Obama, the left calls it “community engagement.” In reality, it’s just another scheme to funnel free labor to globalist elites. The same people who push “living wage” laws are the first to offer you a pat on the back instead of a paycheck.
What kind of “progress” is this? Shouldn’t leadership start with paying people for their skills? Or is expecting an honest day’s wage just too “old fashioned” for today’s Democrats? Maybe the Obama Center should try practicing what it preaches. Or will the only thing “high-skilled” about these volunteer jobs be how well liberals can ignore their own hypocrisy?
