Liberals Ignore Real Oppression as Iran Targets Women’s Soccer Stars

While most of the liberal media busily lectures Americans about “privilege” and “inequality,” real oppression is staring them in the face—and it’s the Iranian regime doing the oppressing. Right now, members of the Iranian women’s national soccer team are forced to think about something no athlete—or anyone, for that matter—should have to: do they risk prison or even death just to spare their families from brutal punishment at the hands of Iran’s tyrants? These women face a regime so vengeful, it goes after innocent family members in a sick display of power.

This is what happens when a government hates freedom and fears women. Iran’s theocratic government doesn’t care about fair play or sportsmanship; it cares about control, submission, and making examples out of anyone bold enough to step out of line. If a woman dares represent her country on an international stage—and dares to have pride in it—the ayatollahs tighten the noose on her entire family back home. Let that sink in. The world’s so-called “progressive” voices never seem to find their megaphones when Muslim women are crushed by Islamic regimes, but they sure do love to lecture Americans about gender rights.

The silence from the globalist crowd is deafening. The same elites who attack traditional values here in the United States go quiet about the real war on women in places like Iran. They clutch their pearls about mean tweets but turn their heads when a soccer player’s family is used as a hostage. Why? Because calling out Iran doesn’t fit their anti-American agenda. It’s always easier for woke activists to blame America than to face the brutal truth about their favorite “multicultural” societies.

Meanwhile, the Biden administration and the spineless bureaucrats running our foreign policy barely lift a finger. We’re expected to send pallets of cash to Iran, to keep “diplomatic channels open,” while girls and women pay the price in blood and fear. The left calls this “engagement”—real conservatives call it what it is: cowardice. America, once a shining beacon for the oppressed, now bows to dictators and negotiates with terrorists.

While liberals are busy worrying about pronouns, Iran’s regime is holding families hostage just to force young women back under its thumb. Maybe it’s time for our so-called leaders to remember what real courage looks like. Because if the West keeps turning a blind eye, who will be left to speak for these brave women? The tough question isn’t for them—it’s for us: how many families will the world sacrifice before it finally admits the truth about these regimes?
