America has enemies on the move, but our so-called allies in NATO seem to think it’s nap time. Right now, the Strait of Hormuz—a single stretch of water critical to the world’s oil supply—is basically shut down because Iran is having its way in the region. With oil tankers under threat and the world’s energy markets shaky, we’d expect NATO to step up, wouldn’t we? Instead, what do we get? Silence. Weakness. More foot-dragging from Europe’s pampered elites.
President Trump is sounding the alarm, like he’s done so many times before. He knows that if NATO keeps hiding while Iran strangles the global economy, America will keep getting burned. NATO is not supposed to be a social club for diplomats to enjoy fancy dinners. It’s supposed to protect the free world. But as always, liberal politicians in Europe want American troops and taxpayers to do all the heavy lifting, while they write stern letters and attend climate conferences.
This is what happens when the West listens to the globalist agenda. European leaders put their faith in empty promises and “diplomacy” while hardline regimes like Iran make their moves. The Strait of Hormuz has been a target for weeks. Yet NATO keeps making excuses, and President Trump is forced to drag them back to reality. How many oil tankers need to be attacked before Brussels wakes up? Or do they just expect America to fix every mess, every time?
What’s most shameful is the anti-American attitude from some supposed allies. They moan about U.S. “intervention” but suddenly get real quiet when their energy supply is at stake. Guess whose ships, planes, and troops they want guarding the sea lanes? The hypocrisy would be funny if it weren’t so dangerous. Liberal elites lecture Americans about “world cooperation” but have zero spine when real action is needed.
NATO was built on shared responsibility, not American charity. If our allies can’t help defend the world’s lifeline at the Strait of Hormuz, maybe it’s time to start calling them what they are: freeloaders. Why should U.S. soldiers risk their lives while European politicians sip champagne and tweet hashtags? Is this what “collective defense” means now—America pays, America bleeds, and everyone else hides? The world deserves better, and so do we.
