San Francisco BART in Chaos as Liberal Policies Turn Public Transit Into a Dangerous Ghost Town

San Francisco’s “beloved” BART system is circling the drain, and it’s a direct result of left-wing policies gone wild. Democrats love to lecture everyone about how public transportation is supposed to be the future—green, communal, and oh-so-progressive. But the truth is, they don’t even use it themselves. Regular Americans are the ones expected to cram onto trains that are dirty, unsafe, and now, nearly empty.

But here’s the real kicker: you can’t have a safe, functioning public transit system and a criminal-friendly justice system at the same time. The liberals running these cities care more about coddling criminals than protecting law-abiding folks. People are getting robbed, assaulted, or worse while just trying to get to work. Who can blame riders for running for the exits?

BART never recovered from the COVID shutdowns. The city’s new “normal” is ghost town train cars because remote work decimated the daily commute. At the same time, criminals treat the trains like their personal playground. It isn’t just dirty—violent crime remains nearly double what it was before the pandemic. Assaults and robberies are up, and the city’s response? Pretend it isn’t happening, or if they do notice, they try to hike fares on what few riders are left. Good luck with that.

Surveys show that people are screaming for more safety, cleanliness, and actual police on the trains. But the politicians in charge refuse to listen. They’d rather beg for new taxes and handouts than admit their policies have failed. If a public transit system is so “important,” why won’t Democrats do the bare minimum to protect its riders? Why do they let criminals and vagrants take over, pushing away working families and honest citizens?

San Francisco’s BART is now a cautionary tale for the rest of the country. When the left puts criminals first and shrugs at chaos, everyone else pays the price. Maybe it’s time the politicians who created this mess start riding the trains with the rest of us—or are they too scared, too?
