Once again, the European Union is showing just how little respect it has for American leadership. President Trump made it crystal clear: the safety of the Strait of Hormuz is not something to play games with. But instead of rising to the challenge and working with America to keep this vital waterway secure, Europe decides to turn its back—again.
It’s almost laughable how the EU loves to lecture America about “global cooperation,” yet when the world needs real leadership, they disappear. When Trump calls for action, these European bureaucrats run for cover so they won’t upset their cozy deals with Iran or offend their Brussels overlords. They’re more concerned with preserving their fragile globalist order than keeping the free world safe.
Let’s not forget what’s at stake. The Strait of Hormuz is the lifeline for oil shipments everywhere, including for our so-called allies in Europe. If Iran jams up the Strait, global markets would go haywire and gas prices would skyrocket. But does the EU care? Apparently not—they prefer virtue signaling and finger-pointing over stepping up to defend the West.
It’s no surprise. European leaders have made a sport out of defying President Trump’s common-sense warnings. He tells them that NATO needs real commitment, not just empty promises. He tells them to help protect the world’s shipping lanes, but they yawn and turn the other way. It’s pure, naked self-interest masked as “diplomacy.” Liberals love to complain that America goes it alone, but honestly, can you blame us?
Why should Americans risk it all for allies who won’t even defend their own interests? The EU is so blinded by anti-Trump bias and their failed globalism that they can’t see danger staring them in the face. If Europe won’t stand up now, maybe they deserve the chaos that’s coming their way. Maybe it’s time to ask—how many warnings does it take for the liberals in Brussels to finally wake up?
