When Gavin Newsom opens his mouth, you’d think California is some glittering land of opportunity that puts the rest of the country to shame. But out here in the real world, his version of California is nothing short of a progressive fairy tale. Meanwhile, voters are sick of being force-fed empty promises wrapped in liberal buzzwords while their neighborhoods crumble. Bear in mind, this is a state that used to symbolize the American Dream—now it looks more like a warning for what happens when you let the radicals take over.
Take a walk through San Francisco these days. Dodging tent cities and human waste isn’t the California lifestyle the glossy brochures promised. Folks are paying sky-high taxes only for the streets to be littered with needles and crime to be the only thing that’s free. But to the liberal elite running the show, everything’s just peachy—if you ignore the thousands fleeing for safer, saner states.
Newsom struts around touting “success” stories, acting like his state is a blueprint for the rest of America. Sure, if your blueprint is about skyrocketing homelessness, failing schools, and gas prices that make you want to trade your pickup for a bicycle. He keeps boasting about climate policies while average families can’t even afford a decent meal thanks to outrageous energy costs and endless red tape. Only the super-rich—even Hollywood is getting bored—can keep up with California’s ever-changing “progressive” rules.
It doesn’t stop there. Newsom loves playing world leader, all while ignoring the real pain in his own backyard. Yes, he preaches about “compassion” and “equity” when his policies are pushing hardworking people into poverty and destroying small businesses left and right. Globalist agendas win, while regular Americans lose their livelihoods and their communities.
This California—the one in Newsom’s speeches—simply doesn’t exist. It’s a fantasy cooked up for his own political future. At the end of the day, the only thing more broken than California’s roads are the promises coming out of Sacramento. If liberals are so right about their policies, why does everyone want out?
