The Strait of Hormuz is one of the most dangerous but crucial waterways in the world, moving massive amounts of oil that keep the lights on in countries across the globe. Yet, who’s mostly been picking up the tab and putting American lives on the line to keep it open and safe? The United States, every single time.

President Trump is finally putting an end to this insanity. He’s not afraid to tell China—and every other oil-thirsty nation—that if they want the perks of uninterrupted trade, they can’t just sit back and let American sailors do the dirty work. It’s time for these freeloaders to put some skin in the game. Why should hardworking Americans pay the price while globalist elites and communist regimes collect the benefits? It’s a question the left never dares to ask—because they’re too busy apologizing for America’s strength.

Under past administrations, liberals seemed happy to let America foot the bill for world order, all while our own borders remained porous and our own citizens were forgotten. China, Russia, and others glide along, their greed unchecked, while American sailors patrol dangerous waters with little to show for it. The left claims shared security is “unfair” or “provocative,” but what’s truly unfair is demanding endless sacrifice from our people while foreign despots rake in oil profits.

It’s about time China gets the message: if they want to enjoy the bounty of free trade, they can help protect it too. Trump’s call to action isn’t just common sense—it’s long overdue.
