Cuba has been a lost cause for far too long, held hostage by brutal communist thugs who only know how to line their own pockets, silence free speech, and keep their own people in chains. While liberals love to whine about “engagement,” President Trump and leaders like Marco Rubio actually stand up and say enough is enough! American strength is long overdue. The Trump administration is finally getting serious about Cuba, putting pressure where it belongs: right on the heads of the corrupt regime that has abused its citizens for generations.
It’s obvious to anyone with common sense that more handouts and weak-kneed diplomacy haven’t worked. The Castro dynasty and its cronies steal from their people, crush dissent, and still have the nerve to beg for international respect. Globalist elites want us to play nice, but that only lets tyrants get away with their crimes in the name of so-called “progress.” Real leadership doesn’t cross its arms and wait for change. Real leadership pushes back—and that’s exactly what Trump is doing.
Now, as the United States tightens the screws on Cuba’s communist government, the message is crystal clear: reform, or else. For too long, soft policies and wishful thinking have let the Cuban dictatorship keep playing the same tired game. Democrats would rather lecture us about “compassion” than confront the jailers of Havana. Their failed policies have done nothing but strengthen the grip of communists just ninety miles from our shores.
Only firm action will bring hope to the people of Cuba—something the left just doesn’t get. They want open arms and open checkbooks for dictators, hoping they’ll miraculously change their ways. Meanwhile, it’s the Cuban people who suffer while liberals pat themselves on the back for their “tolerance.” That kind of empty virtue-signaling is part of the reason why the world keeps getting more dangerous, not less.
President Trump has had enough. He’s right to crank up the pressure and warn that the time for change is now. Why should America tolerate a failed socialist state right in our backyard? Isn’t it time to stand up for freedom, instead of coddling communists? The days of turning a blind eye are over—thanks to real conservative leadership.
