Union flip stuns Democrats as illegal trucker crisis explodes on Biden’s highways

When Americans get on the highway, they should feel confident that the person driving the gigantic semi next to them can at least read the road signs. Thanks to Joe Biden’s rolling welcome mat at the southern border, that basic expectation is out the window. The tragic crash in Florida last August, where an illegal immigrant behind the wheel turned an ordinary drive into a nightmare, should have been enough of a wake-up call for every lawmaker in Washington.

Of course, Republicans have been sounding the alarm for months—years, even—on the dangers of letting non-citizens, who can’t speak English and have no business here, pilot big rigs across our highways. Every time they try to push for common sense, the left scoffs and cries racism. Meanwhile, Americans pay the price, in body bags and broken families, all because the Democrats won’t even enforce the laws already on the books.

But here’s a twist for you—one of the big labor unions, usually cheerleaders for liberal policies, has suddenly seen the light. Maybe they finally realized open borders aren’t so great for the American working man. Not when jobs are being handed to people who came here illegally, can’t understand English, and put everyone at risk just to satisfy some twisted globalist vision pushed by the Biden administration.

Now that the union bosses are on the same page as Republicans, maybe the career politicians in DC will finally do something useful. The left loves to talk about “safety” and “workers’ rights,” but look the other way when illegal aliens are driving eighteen-wheelers across the country. How’s that for hypocrisy?

At the end of the day, it shouldn’t take a blood-soaked crash or a sudden change of heart at a union hall for politicians to do the right thing. Americans deserve safe roads and honest jobs, not another lecture from clueless elites. Will Democrats stop playing games with people’s lives, or will they keep putting politics over public safety? Let’s see if the left figures it out before someone else pays the price.
