Mamdani wasted no time proving it. Less than three months in office, and he’s already scheming to slash the estate tax threshold by 90 percent. Translation? Middle and working-class families—the folks left—will have their savings and homes confiscated by the government when loved ones pass away. So much for protecting the little guy. It looks more like punishing success and grabbing more of your hard-earned wealth for his out-of-control spending spree.
Behind the scenes, his mask is off. Staffers—even those who once supported him—are leaking stories about his two-faced, ruthless leadership. He’s not the friendly, progressive hero he sold to the cameras. In reality, he’s cutting deals, backstabbing allies, and trampling anyone who isn’t useful in his quest for more power. The only thing “progressive” is how quickly his true colors came out.
Even liberals and fellow Democrats are feeling the sting. Mamdani has played political games to keep the Working Families Party in line, blocking support for candidates if it benefits his career. He’s hiding old friends when they become inconvenient, all just to cozy up to whoever has something he wants. It doesn’t matter if you’re left, right, or center—if you’re in his way, you’re toast. Isn’t that the classic move for every so-called socialist revolutionary before him?
Here’s the dirty secret: Socialists always promise to put the people first. But give them power, and suddenly it’s all about grabbing more for themselves and controlling everyone else. History is filled with these betrayals—once they get a taste of the perks, it’s all about protecting their own skin. That’s exactly what’s happening, and New Yorkers are now getting a front-row seat.
How many more times do Americans need to watch the Left turn on itself, fail its own voters, and then double down with even bigger power grabs? Is this really the “change” anyone wanted for New York City, or is it just another sad chapter in the never-ending socialist disaster?
