The news coming out of Illinois should leave every American shaking their head—but not in surprise. Once again, the Democratic Party proves it’s the champion of hypocrisy. Daniel Biss, mayor of Evanston and the hand-picked liberal favorite for Illinois’ 9th Congressional District, has finally come clean only hours before voters hit the polls. The so-called “progressive” can’t seem to keep his own behavior in check. Biss admitted to having a relationship with a former undergraduate student while he was an instructor at the University of Chicago. That’s right—a man who lectures the rest of us about morality just admitted to crossing the line with someone he was supposed to be teaching.
Liberals love pretending they’re holier-than-thou, always preaching about “ethics” and “accountability” whenever it suits their agenda. Yet when it comes to their own, the rules get blurry. If a Republican candidate was caught even thinking about this kind of inappropriate relationship, the media would be calling for their head on a platter. Instead, coverage is soft and the Democratic machine keeps chugging along, hoping voters just look the other way as usual.
Let’s be honest. This isn’t just about one misguided candidate. It’s a pattern with the left. Democrats claim they care about “protecting vulnerable people” but their so-called champions keep getting caught up in scandals involving the very folks they’re supposed to be protecting. Where is the outrage from the woke crowd now? Where are their “believe victims” hashtags and tearful public statements? All we hear is crickets, or yet another well-rehearsed “apology” from the campaign office.
It’s no secret that the Democratic Party is completely beholden to the globalist elites. They want to distract Americans with shiny promises and empty virtue-signaling, while their own leaders act with zero accountability. The left parrots “protect democracy” as their rallying cry, but their own candidates can’t even protect students from inappropriate relationships. Meanwhile, hardworking Americans see the double standard, and they’re getting fed up.
This election was supposed to be Biss’s big moment. Instead, it’s a reminder of everything that’s rotten about liberal politics: the lies, the hypocrisy, and the utter disrespect for the American people. Maybe instead of obsessing over woke slogans and identity politics, Democrats should start picking candidates who don’t have skeletons waiting to spill out of their classrooms. Why does the left think Americans won’t notice their constant betrayal of trust?
