It’s become standard fare on leftist media to watch liberal talking heads melt down over laws that keep our elections safe. But watching Jessica Tarlov throw a fit over the SAVE Act was almost embarrassing—if not for how revealing it was. Here’s the sad truth the radical left can’t admit: Americans want voter ID, and it’s not even close. They scream “Jim Crow” at anything they don’t like while ignoring the fact that the overwhelming majority—including black Americans—support basic checks like showing an ID to vote. What are they really afraid of?
Tarlov practically twisted herself into a pretzel trying to argue that requiring identification somehow hurts women, adoptees, and anyone else the left can use as a prop. But the facts don’t lie: every American needs an ID for almost everything—driving, buying certain medicines, opening a bank account, renting a car, you name it. When she claims regular people don’t know how to get ID, it insults the intelligence and independence of working Americans. Are we really supposed to believe that in the greatest country on Earth, folks are helpless when it comes to paperwork? Please.
It was a breath of fresh air to watch her co-hosts lay into these absurd arguments. Greg Gutfeld, for example, wasn’t having any of it. Dana Perino also let her skepticism show. The real punchline is this: liberals are pushing the fantasy that new voter laws are “disenfranchising” people, all while ignoring their own hypocrisy. Every one of them needs ID for daily life, but apparently voting—the cornerstone of our republic—should be the exception. How convenient.
The heart of the left’s fear is clear: the SAVE Act shuts down any chance for non-citizens, including illegal aliens, to vote in our elections. That terrifies globalists and open-borders Democrats who count on every loophole to tip the scale their way. Instead of standing up for American citizenship, they’d rather play the victim and whine about “oppression” while doing everything in their power to undermine trust in our system.
Seventy-one percent of Americans back the SAVE Act, according to a Harvard poll. The left can pout, rant, or cry about it all they want—but the people have spoken loud and clear. Maybe the real problem isn’t that Americans can’t get IDs, but that liberals can’t win unless the rules are rigged. If you can’t figure out how to get identification, maybe voting isn’t your biggest problem.
