Once again, unelected federal judges are sticking their noses where they don’t belong. Now, they’re forcing Voice of America to bring back more than a thousand employees who have been sitting at home for a year. That’s right—1,042 staffers are getting a golden invitation to march right back into taxpayer-funded jobs, all because a judge said so.
Liberals always talk about draining the swamp, but situations like this show they’re all about keeping it alive and well. Voice of America is supposed to represent American interests overseas, but lately it looks more like a mouthpiece for the left’s agenda. Instead of tough reporting, we get soft stories and anti-American spin—paid for by you, the American worker.
Why should hardworking families keep footing the bill for bureaucrats who got benched for a whole year? If these employees weren’t needed or didn’t do their jobs right, why should they get a free pass to return, like nothing ever happened? Only in the bloated U.S. government do people get rewarded for failing or not even showing up. Regular folks in the private sector would get fired—no second chances, no judges to save them.
It’s obvious: this decision is about coddling the Washington elite, not fixing the real problems at Voice of America. The left loves tying the hands of anyone who tries to bring accountability to government. They want jobs protected, not for performance, but for political reasons. It’s liberal hypocrisy at its finest—preach about reform, then fight to keep every seat in the swamp filled.
America deserves better than this endless bureaucratic merry-go-round. Why should the rest of us pay the price, while out-of-touch insiders pat themselves on the back? Maybe it’s time to ask—when will government actually start serving the people, instead of itself?
