Biden gives Treasury more control over student loans and taxpayers will pay the price again

The Biden administration has once again proven that it can’t manage anything without making a mess. Now, under the pretense of “fixing” the student loan disaster Democrats created, they want to toss more power to the Treasury Department—a group of bureaucrats who couldn’t balance a lemonade stand, let alone the nation’s finances. Instead of demanding real reform, they’re creating a tangled web of government nonsense that will likely hurt the very people they claim to help.

Their latest brainchild is something called the Federal Student Assistance Partnership. Sounds fancy, right? Don’t be fooled. This is just another way for Washington insiders to shuffle numbers around while American students and taxpayers foot the bill. The same liberals who let the student loan crisis spiral out of control now think more government control is the answer. It’s like watching arsonists waving hoses after already burning down the house.

Let’s be honest—handing more authority to the Treasury isn’t about helping students. It’s about control. It’s about letting Ivy League elites and faceless bureaucrats decide who gets a second chance and who’s left out in the cold. These are the same people who treat working-class Americans as a piggy bank for their debt-ridden schemes. And all the while, they pat themselves on the back for how “compassionate” they are—while average Americans get stuck with higher taxes and government interference.

The real solution isn’t more government. It’s scaling back reckless lending, holding universities accountable for runaway tuition, and stopping the endless bailouts. But that would require real leadership—something sorely lacking in this administration. Instead, we get smoke and mirrors, with big promises that lead to bigger failures. The cycle of incompetence continues, and the only winners are the ones handing out government checks.

Americans are tired of being told that more government equals more solutions. If Democrats keep handing over the keys to every agency in Washington, will there be anything left for the people? Or will it just end up another bloated, broken system no one can fix?
