Once again, the globalist elite think they can swoop in and solve problems after years of bowing to radical regimes. Britain, the Europeans, and Japan are suddenly announcing their so-called “readiness” to contribute to efforts in the Straits of Hormuz. Where has this laser-focused concern for international law been while rogue states have threatened global trade routes and American interests for years?

Now, six major nations are wringing their hands about respecting international norms and talking about joint actions to “reopen” one of the world’s busiest waterways. What have they been doing up until now? The Straits of Hormuz didn’t just become dangerous overnight—weakness from the West, the endless posturing from European bureaucrats, and a refusal to take real action have empowered every bad actor in the region.

The hypocrisy is staggering. For years, liberals and their friends in so-called world organizations have lectured America about restraint, about diplomacy. Suddenly, the oil stops flowing and everyone starts waving the flag for “appropriate efforts.” It’s laughable.
