Washington is, once again, a mess. Lawmakers can’t even get their act together to fund the Department of Homeland Security—the single agency actually meant to protect Americans from chaos. But what should we expect from a Congress more obsessed with partisan games and globalist priorities than real border security?
Senator Markwayne Mullin, the president’s pick for the Homeland Security chief job, is practically begging his colleagues: do your jobs. Instead, politicians in D.C. are too focused on scoring cheap political points and protecting their own turf. The result? The department is running on empty, our borders remain wide open, and the American people get the short end of the stick.
The Left will bend over backwards to send billions overseas in the blink of an eye. Yet when it comes time to fund our own homeland, suddenly they want to bicker. This is the hypocrisy we see time and time again from liberal elites. They’ll scream about so-called “democracy” but refuse to do the bare minimum to keep Americans safe in their own country.
Meanwhile, the globalists and open-borders crowd love this kind of dysfunction. Less funding for Homeland Security means fewer resources at the border. Maybe that’s why certain folks in Washington stall at every turn—because a weak border equals more illegal immigrants, helping them reshape America behind our backs.
How much longer will hardworking Americans have to put up with these petty power plays? Congress needs to stop pandering to fringe interests and put American security first, for once. Or maybe they’d rather see another crisis, just to make political points? Either way, it sure seems like America comes last for this crowd.
