According to the latest case out of Illinois, it’s clear that the so-called COVID relief programs were more about virtue signaling by left-wing politicians and globalist do-gooders than actually helping American families.
One Illinois tax preparer managed to scam the government out of a jaw-dropping $14 million by pumping out thousands of fake PPP loan applications. Hundreds of supposed “business owners” got involved and handed over their info—all for quick kickbacks. Meanwhile, hard-working Americans waited month after month for legitimate help. Where did the stolen cash go? Not to pay fed-up waitresses or keep main street shops afloat—but to bankroll renovations on a plush home in Illinois and build a vacation palace in the Palestinian Territories.
Let’s be honest: stories like this are exactly what you get with massive, unaccountable Washington bailout slush funds. Democrats and their bureaucratic pals slap together trillion-dollar “rescue” bills faster than they can print ballots, then act shocked when foreign crooks, scammers, and insiders jump in line ahead of actual U.S. citizens. No one stopped to ask, “Will this money really help the Americans who need it most?” Nope. Instead, the left cheered as the cash flowed—no checks, no balances, just chaos.
Even more infuriating, the fraudster in question not only lined his own pockets, but also collected unemployment from two different states at the same time—while working as a tax preparer. If that’s not a slap in the face to every honest American who’s followed the rules, what is? But in true lefty fashion, the focus in D.C. is always about more spending, more government, and more so-called “equity”—not about cracking down on criminals or safeguarding taxpayer money.
These are the facts: whenever politicians promise that a sudden flood of government cash will “solve” America’s problems, it always ends with waste, fraud, and abuse. Taxpayer dollars meant for relief end up bankrolling luxury lifestyles and overseas schemes. Yet the liberals who created this mess just shrug and ask for more control next time.
