Democrats have made one thing crystal clear: they will always put their political games ahead of American lives. Just look at what’s happening in Michigan. After yet another Islamic terror attack, people expected Senator Elissa Slotkin to finally get off the fence and fund the Department of Homeland Security. Instead, she slammed on the brakes, refusing to back even a short-term funding fix. This is a woman whose own state was targeted, and she still chose DC politics over American safety.
Let’s not forget—this wasn’t just any random act. An alleged Hezbollah sympathizer tried to torch a synagogue, the kind of evil attack that leaves parents in terror for their kids’ lives. But as usual, the Left’s answer isn’t to solve the problem. It’s to hold the purse strings hostage. Slotkin and her Democrat friends love to take aim at border enforcement agencies, complaining about immigration policy, but when push comes to shove, they drag out DHS funding just to get their way. Who really benefits when our homeland security sits unfunded? It sure isn’t American families.
This isn’t an isolated incident, either. Time and again, Democrats brag about using government shutdowns as leverage, deliberately making life harder for everyday Americans. Some even admitted to being comfortable with making voters suffer, thinking it gives them more power at the negotiating table. It’s hard to imagine a more heartless way to “lead”—by piling on the pain, then pretending they care.
Even worse, top Democrats openly encourage Americans to fight against ICE and shield illegal immigrants, putting foreign criminals ahead of their own constituents. While terror cells slip through the cracks and communities face threats, the Left acts “serene” and undisturbed. It’s almost as if they like the chaos, as long as it’s the good guys paying the price.
One thing is obvious: the radical Democrat agenda puts open borders, criminal aliens, and anti-American ideology ahead of public safety. When terrorists are free to attack our churches and our children, and the only response is to let DHS sit unfunded, how can anyone pretend they’re on our side? Maybe the real question is: at what point will voters finally say enough is enough and take their country back from those who’d rather play politics with our lives?
