Democrats Slam Defense Spending but Ignore Trillions Wasted on Entitlements and Broken Programs

Democrats Only Care About Fiscal Responsibility When It’s Convenient—And That Means Weakening America

Once again, we’re watching Democrats suddenly throw a tantrum over defense spending—especially when it means supporting Israel or protecting our interests abroad. But where is all this outrage when it comes to the real money pits in Washington? Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid—these so-called entitlements eat up more than half of the federal budget. That’s trillions, not billions! And yet, they’re barely delivering on their promises, year after year, while America’s debt grows higher.

Let’s be honest: the very job of government is to keep its people safe. Defense spending is actually doing its job. Our military is the envy of the world. It deters threats, protects our homeland, and stands up to dictators and terrorists. Sure, there’s waste—and we should fix that. But at least defense gets results. Can anyone really say the same about government-run social programs? Decades of runaway entitlement spending, and we still have millions stuck in broken systems, with fraud and bureaucracy swallowing hundreds of billions a year.

Suddenly, when it’s time to send support to Israel or strengthen our own military, left-wing politicians pretend to care about the national debt. But when it’s about their pet projects—the endless spending on so-called “safety nets” and handouts—they’re silent about the costs. Fiscal responsibility is just a talking point when it serves their globalist, anti-security agenda.

Meanwhile, these same liberals were cheering for billions sent to Ukraine—a country where we don’t even have boots on the ground. Nancy Pelosi called it a win for democracy. But supporting our greatest ally, Israel? Suddenly, the checkbook slams shut. The hypocrisy would be laughable if it weren’t so dangerous.

Here’s the real truth: Democrats aren’t interested in cutting waste or balancing budgets. They just want to attack conservatives and hamstring President Trump, no matter the cost. Maybe it’s time Washington remembered what matters: a strong defense, a responsible budget, and an America that puts its citizens first. Or is that too much common sense for the left to handle?
