Virginia is taking another wild swing left. Remember just a few years ago when voters delivered a shocking upset by voting in Glenn Youngkin, a Republican business guy who actually knows how to run things? Democrats and their media pals tried to downplay it, but it was a real thumping. Virginians were sick of out-of-touch Democratic elites picking their own, and Youngkin broke their hold over Richmond. But flash forward to today, and the radical progressives are clawing back, pushing legislation that reeks of the same old woke nonsense.
Case in point—the latest bill marching to Governor Spanberger’s desk. This one will have government jobs in Virginia handed out based on race and gender. That’s right, the left wants to drag us back to the days of dividing Americans by skin color and chromosomes. Instead of hard work and ability, the left demands government become a diversity checkbox parade. Have they lost their minds? Isn’t this what the Civil Rights Movement fought to end?
Democrats love to lecture America about “equity,” but their version always means tearing down merit and fairness. They talk a big game about unity, then shove through rules that split people into groups and pit them against each other. If this bill passes, you can forget about hiring the best person for the job. Virginia’s government will be more interested in your identity than your talents. That’s not progress—it’s pure regression masquerading as enlightenment.
Let’s call this what it is: discrimination, plain and simple. The left likes to dress it up in buzzwords, but in the end, it’s still about picking winners and losers based on things no one can control. Democrats would rather virtue-signal than actually fix anything. It’s a slippery slope—today it’s government jobs, tomorrow it’s everywhere else. Where does it stop? With liberals, it never does.
Anyone who still thinks the Democratic Party cares about working people needs to look in the mirror. This bill isn’t about fairness or opportunity. It’s about power. It’s about dividing us so the ruling class can keep control. Virginians deserve better. If the future of America is picking people by categories instead of character, then the left is pushing us right off a cliff.
So here’s the question: when did “progress” become code for turning the clock back on equal treatment? Only the woke left could call racism and sexism a win for justice.
