There’s a reason nobody lines up to move to Cuba. The country’s communist rulers promised a worker’s paradise. Instead, the only thing they managed to deliver is darkness—literally. For the second time in less than a week, the entire island suffered yet another massive power outage. Cubans young and old are boiling over with anger. The situation is so bad, protests are breaking out all over. They’re tired of empty promises, tired of heat without relief, tired of leaders who can’t keep even the lights on.
This is what socialism gets you: empty store shelves, collapsing infrastructure, and a government that cares more about controlling people than serving them. Leftist elites and their globalist cheerleaders love to fantasize about “free” healthcare and education in Cuba. But what good is so-called equality if people are forced to ration electricity or live without it at all? The liberal fantasy crumbles every time reality hits, and boy, is Cuba living proof.
These power outages aren’t some freak accident. They’re what happens after years of top-down control, corruption, and failed economic policies. While Cuba’s leaders live in comfort, everyday families sweat it out, uncertain if they’ll be able to cook dinner or read to their kids at night. The regime can’t handle basic needs, yet Western leftists act like the Cuban model is something to admire. Do they ever show up to wait in those endless lines for bread or medicine? Of course not.
The protests spreading across the island show just how fed up Cubans are with their so-called leaders. Forced darkness is just the latest in a long line of government failures. As living conditions crumble, the Cuban people grow bolder in standing up against their rulers. Will the media bother to highlight ordinary citizens demanding change? Or will they keep running cover for a system that’s been a disaster for six decades and counting?
Ask yourself: if big government and socialist dreams really work, why does Cuba keep sinking deeper into crisis while its people risk everything for freedom? The answer is simple: socialism fails every time—and those who praise it should try living under its shadow before pretending it’s a beacon for the rest of us.
