There’s a reason Americans don’t trust the people running our country’s systems anymore. Look no further than the horror at New York’s LaGuardia airport to see why. On Sunday night, an Air Canada plane slammed right into a Port Authority fire truck—and it’s not just a fender-bender. Two pilots are dead. Dozens of passengers rushed to hospitals. This isn’t just a “tragic accident.” It’s the ugly result of what happens when common sense and real leadership get thrown out the window.
Who’s supposed to make sure the runways are safe? Politicians and union-backed bureaucrats who are more interested in greenlighting their own pet projects than making travel safe for American families. They’d rather bicker about “infrastructure equity” and “climate justice” than keep planes and emergency vehicles from colliding on the tarmac. Liberals love to talk about how airports should be “inclusive” and “welcoming.” But where’s the basic competence? Where’s the responsibility?
Meanwhile, they’ll have the nerve to tell us this is just some kind of “unforeseeable tragedy.” Give me a break. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that if you keep gutting real safety funding, hiking fees, and letting standards slide, airport disasters will happen. These are the same so-called leaders who always rush to blame “systemic underfunding” and demand even more cash—for themselves and their anti-American projects. But who ends up paying? Everyday Americans, again.
And let’s not forget the international side of the story. Air Canada—yet another foreign airline on American soil. Our leaders are quick to hand over key parts of our infrastructure to globalist interests. They love to virtue signal about “open skies” and “international cooperation,” but do they ever stop to ask: Is this actually making us safer? Sunday night’s carnage says it all. Real national security means putting American safety ahead of global PR.
How many more innocent people have to suffer before the left stops playing politics with our lives? Maybe, just maybe, it’s time for leaders who care more about safety than about scoring woke points on cable news. If this disaster doesn’t wake up the bureaucrats and their liberal handlers, what will?
