All across social media, a disgusting video is making the rounds. In it, smug international leftists, supposedly on a “pro-regime” tour of Cuba, are actually caught forcing starving children to dance in the street for a few scraps of food. Kids, desperate for basic necessities, are seen groveling for cookies thrown to them by well-fed, self-congratulatory elites. Of course, these are the same types who love to lecture Americans about “equity” and “justice” from their expensive hotels while turning a blind eye to the misery that socialist policies create.
Where’s the outrage from Hollywood, from the so-called human rights activists, or from the liberal media? When conservatives speak out on the suffering inflicted by communism, we’re called heartless or “anti-immigrant.” Meanwhile, these globalist do-gooders jet over to Cuba to pat themselves on the back, surrounded by poverty their ideology caused, using vulnerable kids as props for their leftist fantasy.
Any sane person can see what’s going on here. For decades, communists and their Western cheerleaders have destroyed the Cuban economy, turning a once-thriving nation into a land of breadlines and hopelessness. Now, these same Western activists show up, wave some cookies around, and expect applause for tossing crumbs to hungry children. It’s the purest form of liberal hypocrisy—preaching compassion while treating the poor as entertainment.
This is the ugly truth about socialism and its apologists: they never deliver for the people. Instead, they prop up evil regimes, ignore real suffering, and use children as pawns for their Instagram feeds. While leftist elites keep praising Cuba’s dictatorship as “progressive,” starving kids just want something to eat. That’s the fruit of socialist policy—misery for the many, smug satisfaction for the few.
When will the left admit that their dream of a socialist utopia always ends with broken lives and hungry kids? Maybe the next time they want to virtue-signal about “equality,” they should look those children in the eyes instead of turning poverty into a performance. Will liberal elites ever take responsibility, or is exploiting the helpless just business as usual for the globalist left?
